Get help paying your Medicare prescription drug costs
If you need help paying your prescription drug costs, Medicare Extra Help may be for you. The Medicare Extra Help program is for people with limited income and resources. If you qualify, you'll:

Get help paying your Medicare drug plan’s monthly premium and copayments

Have no coverage gap

Have no late enrollment penalty
People with Extra Help can change plans once every three months in the first nine months of the year.
Who qualifies for Extra Help?
This program is for people who have:

Up to $22,590 in yearly income (Up to $30,660 for a married couple), and

Up to $17,220 in resources (Up to $34,360 for a married couple)
Note: These amounts are for 2024 and could change in 2025. If your income and resources are slightly higher, you should still apply.
If you get full Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, you automatically qualify for Extra Help.
